North West Essex Constituency
Bio:
Grant was born in Saffron Walden, Essex and apart from periods away for work and living abroad, he settled back here permanently in 2019. Grant remarried in July 2022 and now lives with his wife Jennifer and their cockapoo, Candice.
After leaving grammar school in 1969, Grant briefly worked for United Glass before enlisting in the Royal Air Force in the ATC Branch. After leaving the Air Force, Grant went into sales and formed his own limited company. He became active with the Conservative Party and became Chairman of Saffron Walden Constituency Conservative Association Town Branch, as well as serving four years as a town councillor.
In 2005, Grant moved to Turkey but had to move back to the UK in 2019 for health reasons. Grant decided to once more get involved in politics when he saw the direction the country was taking under the Conservative Government and decided to join Reform UK in early 2023.
Grant is now determined to spread the Reform UK word and let people know that there is an alternative to the binary political system that we currently have. He is currently building a team of volunteers to help with fundraising and intends to introduce himself to as many constituents as he can over the next few months.
Grant has witnessed the disaster first hand of R4U policies in Saffron Walden and the destruction of many green spaces for housebuilding on a massive scale but with little or no improvements in infrastructure. There are not enough schools, doctor’s surgeries or dentists and the town gets gridlocked on a regular basis due to the unsustainable development still taking place.
Grant feels that he will better be able to serve North West Essex Constituency because he lives in and understands Saffron Walden and can travel to other parts of the Constituency easily and quickly.
“Reform UK are the only political party that hold the values that are dear to me, particularly those concerning immigration, Brexit, the gradual erosion of our democracy and freedom of speech, not to mention the appalling state of our utilities.”
If you would like to get involved with us, email or call me and I will add you to the growing list of disgruntled local residents who feel they no longer have a voice. Together, we can all make a difference to the way politics is played in our constituency and the country as a whole.
