PPC - Pat O'Connor

Biography:

Pat enlisted in the Army in Lincoln and served for 22 years seeing active service in the Falklands War and the Bosnian conflict. He then went to work for Lincolnshire Police for 13 years, firstly as a call taker where he took tens of thousand of calls in respect of crime in Lincolnshire so has a good understanding of residents concerns on policing.

As an elected councillor he also served on the Police committee which allowed him to gain a great deal of knowledge of Policing operations in the County. He finished his time as a Crime Intelligence Analyst with special responsibility in analysing serious sexual offences and domestic violence.

Elected to Lincolnshire County Council in 1999, he served for seventeen years both in control and opposition and fulfilled the role of Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee. His four years as A District Councillor saw him appointed as Deputy Leader of West Lindsey DIstrict Council as well as being an NHS governor.

In the past four years he was a member of Gainsborough Town Council and Mayor of Gainsborough in 2022/23. He last fought the Gainsborough Parliamentary seat in 2010 where he came second with 27% of the vote.

Pat’s ethos has always been service to the community, whether this was as a soldier, working for the Police or as an elected Councillor. This is something that seems to have been forgotten by those in Parliament. It is their fault that the main pillars of our society are now infused with woke ideology propped up by a supine media.

Integrity is conspicuous by its absence for the simple reason that there are no longer any consequences. Situations are manipulated for the profit of the few in the sure and certain knowledge that they will rarely be called to account. It is to combat this that he has put himself forward again.
