Central Suffolk and North Ipswich Constituency
Biography:
I am your parliamentary candidate for Central Suffolk and North Ipswich. My name is Tony Gould and I have been active in politics since 2015 when I first stood for UKIP in the local elections in Ipswich. I then managed the Ipswich Brexit referendum for Vote Leave in 2016. I also stood for UKIP in the GE in 2017, for the Brexit Party in the GE in 2019 and also as MEP in 2019.
I was a Conservative ward councillor in Ipswich, with the sole purpose of opposing our Labour controlled Borough Council, but resigned recently to take up this mission. I now need your help for the vitally important General Election called for 4th July. Nigel Farage has entered the fray and raised our profile to reach out to the electorate, but we still need to appeal to every voter as a viable alternative party.
My background is in science and technology having spent my career at the British Telecom research establishment at Martlesham Heath. I am now retired and my focus is trying to contribute to rectifying the dire state of this country after coping with some of the hopeless government policies over the last couple of decades.
These include uncontrolled immigration, insufficient housing, NHS, education, net zero and the Covid shambles, all of which have helped to bankrupt Britain. I have a traditional, conventional outlook supporting Christian cultural values and believe in integrity and hard work. Reform UK is the only party that reflects my views. Locally, I support British farming for our food security, yet oppose offshore power being delivered via pylons across our countryside. Energy and grid security can be achieved by other means.
Professionally, prior to retirement, I have been a lead technology consultant to British Telecom, France Telecom, AT&T (US) and KDD (Japan) in the field of optical fibre submarine cable technology. At leisure I have been chairman of a twinning association with France and Germany for many years, and a board member of Eurojumelages, a European organisation.
